I am excited to be a part of California Vision 2020. My participation will allow me to join with others who are advocating for youth and immigrant families. California is poised to lead on these issues and the conference is sure to move us forward in our endeavors.
I look forward to California being in a leader in criminal justice reform, where ALL individuals, regardless of color or position of power, will be treated fairly and charged equitably for the same crimes. My heart breaks over the significant misrepresentation of black and brown people in our criminal justice system when statistically black and brown people are not much more likely to commit crimes than their white counterparts. I am thankful to live in California, a state known for it's progressiveness and innovation, and I look forward to California being an example of an effective and productive justice reform!
I am excited and honored to be among visionaries who share a similar mindset as I do so that I may continue learning and challenging myself. As a first-generation college student and an immigrant, I feel very strongly about youth empowerment. I want to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves, domestically and internationally. California sets itself apart from many states in the USA, for the sole reason that we are dreamers. The ability to dream larger than life will pave the way for the distinctive political, economic, social, and cultural change.

I live in Shasta County, an area of such natural beauty that has just been devastated in the Carr Fire. Fires and drought will become more frequent and prolonged as our climate changes. Imagine a world in which California truly leads the way forward in generating innovative ways to deal with climate change and encourages the inner transformation that this will require—on the personal, collective, and systemic levels.
I am greatly looking forward to the opportunity to come together with so many leaders and visionaries. When we recognize the incredible energy, wisdom, creativity and compassion that already exist in our communities, we can work together to harness our power and create a more just, equitable and balanced world. I am excited to learn from the experiences of others, and build connections in order to better serve the communities of Sacramento.
What a great moment to come together in creativity, innovation and expansive visions of a better world, one that honors Life in all of its expressions. How inspiring it is to bring wisdom traditions to the concerns of the day, to reframe our lives and communities with the priority of authenticity, connection and unity. We get to know each other with divine eyes and realize that all of us are together on this planet because we belong together.
California has always been a beacon, and in these dim times, our audacious and confident illumination is needed more than ever. As Stockton's first Poet Laureate, and as the Executive Director of the Central Valley's leading literary and performing arts nonprofit, I'm proud of all the ways that California leads the way in empowering and elevating youth voices, particularly the melanated and the marginalized. It's a singular honor to be a California Vision 2020 Ambassador, and I cannot wait to reflect the best of our combined light back to my community.
My vision for California's future is that we must center Indigenous issues in our state, by respecting the self-determination of Native people of California and those Indigenous migrants that have made California their home. We must make higher education accessible and equitable; a good step towards this is through making Ethnic Studies a high school graduation requirement statewide and incorporating the values of Ethic Studies into K-12 curriculum. I look forward to California becoming a leader in educational reform.
I’m looking forward to being an active participant in this wide-ranging conference. With my background in journalism, policy development, and political activism, I’ll be fully engaged in listening and learning. California can continue to be a leader in community economic development; can provide its intellectual firepower to address social inequities and provide solutions leading to fiscal reform; and demonstrate the courage to build bridges across our political divide.
Our world is in a state of profound transition, and now is the time to reconnect to the deepest parts of ourselves and our communities as we create a new collective story.
As a leader bridging mindfulness and social justice work, I am blessed with opportunities to build innovative systems of self-awareness and healing for the marginalized communities of California. This work is inspired by my Mexican immigrant story of healing and transformation, along with the stories and efforts of my many collaborators in re-imagining the education and criminal justice systems. The people empowering these projects and initiatives are rebuilding broken systems into ones anchored in long-term visions of community regeneration, healing, and thriving.
At VISION 2020, I am excited to connect with other changemakers and leaders to envision a new California, grounded in principles of radical unity & diversity, reciprocity, creativity and justice.
With great hope, we look forward a California economy that works for ALL. Government should be the servant of the people, NOT the ruler of the people. Human trafficking, affordable housing, worker and animal rights are all issues relevant to our collective progress. The time has come to move words into dynamic and meaningful action and shift to a new paradigm of service to our communities. As the 5th biggest Economy in the world, we can do better to bridge the gap of wealth inequality. Working people are living in poverty, a job no longer guarantees a living wage. We are better than this. We must work together to find the innovative disruption that fuels the tech sector to fuel a California dream for ALL. demanding an economy that works for everyone -- not just the top 1%. We urgently need to make compassion a clear, luminous and dynamic force in our polarized state...indispensable to the creation of a just economy and a peaceful, civically engaged community.
I am excited to bring my commitment to quality education for all students across California and meet others seeking to collaborate to bring this vision to life. Our future requires us all to dream bigger and work harder, and I am up to the task.
I'm so thrilled to be a select ambassador for this year's California Vision 2020 conference!!! As an ordained Center for Spiritual Living Minister, health enthusiast, and school teacher, I am very interested in helping to Awaken the World to It's Spiritual Magnificence! Throughout the Conference, I hope to learn ways to facilitate the kind of change that is for the highest good of all concerned. I am looking forward to hearing more about Women's Leadership to learn ways of becoming a vehicle for change that incorporates Sacred Citizenship and Activism in a culture of wellness! I believe with empowered people, Californians can take positive constructive action that will teach the world how to resolve the myriad of problems facing the planet at this time. To become empowered, we must start at home and use our dollars to vote for that which is helpful and not harmful to others and the environment. Now is the time to demonstrate compassion in our lives starting first with ourselves to make the healthy choices necessary to build the energy needed to take proactive steps towards healing ourselves and the outmoded ways of the past.

I see a CA where we have transformed the destructive and exploitative paradigm of industrial agriculture and transitioned to sustainable and just urban agroecosytems. I see a CA where we have abolished the prison industrial complex and are providing viable alternatives for the health and safety of our communities. I see a CA where Indigenous peoples are leading the way with the power and knowledge of the ancestors. I see a CA where education is place-based and made relevant to the most pressing issues in our communities. I see a CA that thinks and acts beyond its political and imaginary borders.
I am thrilled to be able to connect with others from a wide field to hear their voices and share insight from my many years in education. During my journey in schools with children, families and community, I have learned and understand the need to listen to multiple perspectives first to truly make change. I yearn for a community where social justice is strengthened and creativity flourishes in us all but especially our youth who hold our future in their hands.
Therapists for Social Responsibility, (TSR), the group I represent, is searching for new, impactful and inspiring ways for clinician to make a difference in those areas where the psychological and political/social/environmental areas intersect. Hoping for deep connections and breakthrough strategies for change. Therapists Rising, (TR), offering free or low-cost counseling to immigrants and refugees, came out of a TSR symposium and the newly formed group is looking for direction and support as well. I can't wait to meet people with vision and specific ideas for action at the conference!
I am honored to sit at the table with others who have a passion for social activism, community empowerment and an improved vision for California. I have seen first hand the commitment and courage of the CSUS social work students and Department of Corrections parole agents I teach that there is a hunger for a better, stronger, more just California. I believe that the power of change is possible when we are open to embracing racial justice, criminal justice and community issues together.
I have a vision of a world where every nation’s system of government and economy respects the human rights and dignity of every person; is in balance with the planet’s ecosystems; and where every person breathes clean air, drinks clean water, eats healthy food, and has a roof over their head. Through listening, sharing, and collaborating, we can and will make the CA Vision a reality.
It is an honor and privilege to be part of this exciting group of leaders and visionaries in moving California forward in regards to strengthening ALL families and creating space for innovative ideas and the upliftment of consciousness. I look forward to sharing space, thoughts, and energy with my fellow visionaries.
I’m working with media publishers to create public opinion reports from short polls embedded in news stories. We distribute the reports to civic leaders, providing them with real-time insights for better decisions. Revenue from the sales helps to fund quality local journalism.
I’d like California to show how participatory democracy builds happier, healthier and more resident communities.

I want to see in 2020:
1. More homeless assistance to the poor people, since we are the #6 in economy in the world,
2. Better Immigration system for California residents, and
3. Better education systems for all ages.
I am very excited to come home to Sacramento to be a part of California Vision 2020 along with other leaders and visionaries who want to lay the foundation for statewide success for future generations. California Vision 2020 will connect me with likeminded individuals who want to have an active role in fostering an environment where small businesses flourish and the communities of California as a whole benefit from the jobs, resources plus level of political engagement created by these same small businesses. The ultimate goal is to make the following motto a reality: "Build Businesses to Build OUR Communities!"
I am excited to meet people working for change in the world.
Looking forward to coming up with ways to put vision onto action
I look forward to co-creating an environment in which people experience being heard, seen and known for their unique contribution to California.
I love participating in conversations that are full self-expressions and opportunities to see through new eyes.
I am honored to be an ambassador to this conference; I will bring my experience and commitment to transformational business and education.
As a social entrepreneur, entrepreneurship coach, cultivator of communities-of-purpose, and a healer, I'm thrilled to be a California 2020 Vision Ambassador. I look forward to an inspiring gathering, and collaborating with like-minded, like-hearted changemakers to co-create the better world we all know is possible.
So many visionaries with capacity and resources for social change are trying to find fertile ground for change. Movement building in California just feels right, and right now, especially in fields of social entrepreneurship and the potential for community sharing networks to produce carbon reduction at scale in one of the worlds most developed economies. I'm excited to join with the Shift Network in tapping this potential.
California is progressive and leads our nation in innovation. I am interested in the opportunity to meet with other leaders who are working in areas of positive change and impact to provide safety and educational opportunities for girls from low income families, single mothers, and immigrants to California.
I’m excited about learning about what community leaders and visionaries have to say about building vibrant and healthy communities. And I am passionate about spiritual politics and how to grow a socially conscious business.
